Research, Education and Knowledge Transfer in Renewable Energy
As part of the EU Erasmus+ project RESET – “Redefining Research Management Structures and Research Career Development to Accelerate Green Growth in Lao PDR”, the University of Freiburg will welcome a delegation of around 30 representatives from Laos from 27 to 30 July 2026. The delegation includes university presidents, representatives of the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports, and researchers from different academic disciplines.
During their visit to the Center for Renewable Energy (ZEE), the delegation will gain insights into renewable energy research and education at the University of Freiburg. The programme will provide opportunities to exchange experiences and discuss research networking, cooperation between research, industry and society, and knowledge and technology transfer.
The visit will combine presentations and discussions with practical insights into current renewable energy research, including the ZEE Agrivoltaics Demonstrator. Further topics include district heating and cooling networks and airborne wind energy. The programme will conclude with a discussion on potential synergies and future cooperation between Laos and Germany in renewable energy education and research.
